Configure the TikTok pixel & TikTok Events API for a Paylogic shop
By configuring the TikTok Pixel and the TikTok Events API in the Paylogic backoffice, you can track all behaviour of your fans on TikTok. By adding the TikTok Events API, you receive even more data and gain a better understanding of how effective your marketing campaigns are.
Follow the steps below to set up the pixel:
- Create a TikTok Business account here or log in with your existing account.
- Log in to the TikTok Ads Manager.
- Follow this TikTok article to create a pixel and generate an access token for the TikTok Events API. Don’t forget to carefully read the “Before you begin” section.
- Copy your TikTok Pixel ID and access token and go to the Paylogic backoffice.
- Go to the event for which you want to use the TikTok pixel and open the “Marketing Tags” menu.
- Select “TikTok Pixel” and enter the TikTok Pixel ID and access token that you copied in step 4.
- Confirm by clicking “Save changes”.
- You have now successfully configured the TikTok Pixel & Events API and will automatically receive events in your TikTok Ads Manager.
What information is sent to TikTok?
The following events are sent to TikTok with these parameters:
- PageView
- ViewContent:
- content_id: Event ID
- content_name: Event ID + URL path of the shop
- content_category: Event title
- content_type: product
- AddToCart:
- content_id: Product ID
- Quantity: Number of tickets from the product that were added
- PlaceAnOrder:
- content_name: Event ID + URL path of the shop
- content_category: Event title
- content_type: product
- currency: Currency
- value: Total amount of the transaction
- quantity: Total number of tickets in the order
- spu_name: Product title
