- If you already have a Universal Analytics-property, you'll see a GA4 Setup Assistant in the Admin section of that property.
This starts a process to help you create a new Google Analytics 4-property.

This option of the GA4 Setup Assistant does not affect your existing Universal Analytics-property. This only initiates the creation of the new property and allows you to reuse some of the Universal Analytics-property settings (but not all + additional conditions may apply)
2. After you click on GA4 Setup Assistant, you'll be prompted to create a new GA4 profile or connect to the existing one. Select the “Create new property” option.
3. Then you will see a pop-up describing what will happen:
- A new property is created
- Some basic Universal Analytics settings are reused (for example, property name)
- You can enable Enhanced Measurement
4. Click on 'Create and continue'.
5. You will be taken to the configuration page for a Google tag. Click Done in the upper right corner.
6. You have now created your GA4-property. Click on “Go to your GA4-property.
7. Select Data Streams from the menu on the left and click on the data stream that is displayed
(it was created automatically when you upgraded from the Universal Analytics property).
8. Next, you will see a window like the one below. In the upper right corner, you will see the Measurement ID of your new property. Copy this.
